Famed cinematographer Jose Luis Alcaine working on Oscar-winning director Farhadi’s new film has been honored at Locarco Festival, Switzerland.
The Swiss festival paid tribute to internationally recognized DP, granting him the Vision Award prize which honors technical achievements and advancements in film.
Alcaine is best known for films, including 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown' (1988) and The Skin I Live In (2011).
The DP is currently working on Brian De Palma’s new thriller Domino. He is also working on Asghar Farhadi’s next project, starring Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz.
“Film is not just storytelling but first and foremost a gaze on the world, and that world sees the light thanks to artists like Alcaine,” said Locarno director Carlo Chatrian, admiring the Spanish artist.
The 70th Locarno Festival is slated for August 2-12, 2017.
